How to create a competition?
Only users with editor role can create competitions.
If you have the privilege to create Competitions, you will see the link ‘Competitions’ under the Editor section of your left menu. Follow the below steps to create a new competition:
Go to EDITOR > GAMIFICATION AND ENGAGEMENT > Competitions > Add Competition.
Step-1: Add Name, Description, and Dates to the Competition
Give a catchy name to your competition and add a description. Every competition has to have a start and end date.
Apart from this you can add a Theme for the competition and upload a PDF related to it (if needed).
Once you are done entering these details, click on the ‘Save’ button.
Step-2: Add participants to the Competition
The next step is to add participants to the competition. Select the desired participants and add them to the competition.
You can filter these participants based on the Business Unit, Country, Group, Name, Email, and Meta Tags. Once you have selected the participants, click on the "Save" button to save the selection.
Step-3:Add Leaderboard to the Competition:
Next step is adding leaderboards to this competition. You can add multiple leaderboards to a Competition. There are two types of leaderboards. One is a team leaderboard and the other is an individual leaderboard.
Follow the below steps to create these two types of leaderboards for a competition:
Go to the third step. Then click on the "Add" button. It opens the following pop-up:
Visible To: In this section, you could select and control the visibility of the leaderboard. You will have three options here -
- Everyone - Makes it visible to everyone in the competition
- None - Makes it visible to no one but you
- Only Members in Leaderboard - Makes it visible to only the members in the leaderboard
Scoring Method: Here, select the kind of scoring method that you want to implement for the leaderboard. You have two options here. You can either calculate the sum of the scores or get an average of the scores.
This feature only works for team leaderboards.
Average is mostly selected when you have teams with an unequal number of participants and you want to measure each team on a common scale.
Show Ranking: Check this option if you want to show users up to a number of ranking. Here you need to provide the number of ranks up to which you wish to show on the leaderboard.
Teams: If you are creating a team leaderboard, then this is the section where you select the team/teams that you want to display on the leaderboard.
Once you have entered the required information and selected the desired participants, click on the " Save" button. This will successfully create the leaderboard and add it to the competition.
