How to create a missing words question?

A Missing Words question enables participants to complete a sentence or phrase by selecting the correct word(s) from a predefined list of options.


Below are the steps to create a missing words question.
  1. Access the Question Bank:

    Navigate to EDITOR > LEARNING AND KNOWLEDGE > Questions and Quizzes > Question Bank in the SmartWinnr editor.

  2. Initiate a New Question:

    Click the Add Question button located in the top-right corner of the page.

  3. Select the Question Type:

    In the question creation interface, choose Missing Words from the Question Type dropdown.

  4. Enter the Missing Words:

Enter the the number of missing words in the question.

Enter your question in the Question field.

Type your question or sentence into the Question field. Within the text, insert placeholders where    each missing word should appear by using the designated placeholder button shown below:

  1. Define Missing Word Groups and Answers:

Enter the option texts for each missing word and assign them to the appropriate answer option group. Since this example includes only one missing word, there will be a single answer option group (Group 1). If the question contains two missing words, corresponding answer option groups (Group 1 and Group 2) should be created.

After entering all option texts for each missing word group, select the checkbox “Mark this as the correct answer option” for the appropriate option. This ensures that the system awards the correct score when the user selects the correct answer.

Select the “Shuffle Last Option” checkbox to randomize the position of the last answer option in the question.
