Understanding the Competency & Skills Insights Tab on the AI Coaching Dashboard
Competency & Skills Insights Tab
This tab provides detailed analysis of skill development, performance trends, and regional comparisons.
Competency Growth Over Time
This multi-line chart shows how each skill has developed over the selected time period.
What it shows:
- One colored line for each skill being tracked
- Average scores (0-100 scale) for each skill across all learners
- Weekly progression from Week 1 through Week 10 (or your selected timeframe)
How to read it:
- Each line represents a different skill (e.g., Call Closing, Objection Handling, Product Knowledge)
- Higher positions on the chart indicate better performance
- Upward slopes show improvement over time
- Lines that remain flat may indicate skills that need additional training focus
Why this matters: This chart helps you see which skills are improving steadily and which might be plateauing. Use it to identify skills that need new training materials, different coaching approaches, or more practice opportunities.
Competency Performance by Attempt
This chart shows how learners improve in each skill as they complete more practice attempts.
What it shows:
- One colored line for each skill
- Average scores (0-100 scale) from Attempt 1 through Attempt 5
- How much learners improve with repeated practice
How to read it:
- The x-axis shows attempt numbers (1st attempt, 2nd attempt, etc.)
- The y-axis shows the average score for that attempt
- Steeper lines indicate skills where learners improve quickly with practice
- Flatter lines suggest skills that require more attempts to master
Why this matters: This helps you understand how many practice attempts learners typically need to reach proficiency in each skill. Skills with slower improvement curves may need additional resources or modified training approaches.

Competency Assessment Heatmap
This visual heatmap shows performance across different organizational groups and skills.
What it shows:
- Rows: Different organizational groups (these can be customized based on your setup)
- In the example shown: Geographic zones like Great Lakes, New England/Boston, New Jersey, etc.
- Your organization might use different groupings like teams, departments, product lines, or sales territories
- Columns: Individual skills (Call Closing, Objection Handling, Product Knowledge, Trust Building, Probing, Engagement, Communicating Skills)
- Cell colors: Performance levels ranging from dark yellow (needs improvement) to dark green (excellent)
- Cell percentages: Average score for that specific group in that specific skill
How to read it:
- Scan across a row to see all skills for one group
- Scan down a column to compare one skill across all groups
- Darker green cells indicate strong performance (higher scores)
- Yellow or orange cells indicate areas needing attention (lower scores)
Example: If Great Lakes shows 85% in Call Closing (dark green) but 43% in Product Knowledge (yellow), you know that region excels at closing but needs additional product training.
Why this matters: This heatmap lets you quickly identify which groups need support in which skills. Use it to:
- Target training resources to specific regions or teams
- Identify best-performing groups who can share their practices
- Balance skill development across your entire organization
- Make fair comparisons across different organizational units
