Key Metrics Section
This section displays four core metrics that give you a quick snapshot of SmartPath activity.
Active Courses
What it shows: The total number of SmartPaths (learning courses) that are currently live and available to learners during the selected time period.
How to read it:
- The main number (e.g., 11) shows total active SmartPaths
- The percentage below (e.g., "-35%") shows the change compared to the previous period
- A red downward arrow indicates a decrease from the previous period
- A green upward arrow would indicate an increase
Why this matters: This tells you how many learning programs are currently running. A decrease might indicate that courses have ended or been retired. An increase shows new programs have been launched.
Things to know: "Active" means the SmartPath is live and accessible to learners, whether or not anyone is currently enrolled or participating.
Active Learners
What it shows: The total number of users who have engaged with at least one SmartPath activity (completed a quiz, viewed SmartFeed content, started a survey, or accessed a SCORM course) during the selected time period.
Why this matters: This metric tells you how many team members are actively engaging with your learning programs. A declining number may indicate that learners need reminders, motivation, or that there are barriers to participation.
Things to know: Only users who have interacted with at least one learning activity during the time period are counted as "active." Users who have access but haven't engaged are not included in this count.
Learning Hours
What it shows: The total time learners have spent on all SmartPath activities during the selected time period, based on actual time tracked.
Why this matters: This demonstrates overall engagement and effort invested in learning. Higher numbers indicate strong participation and commitment to completing learning programs.
How it's calculated: SmartWinnr tracks the actual time learners spend actively engaged with content—not estimated durations. This gives you real engagement data.
Avg Learning Hours
What it shows: The average time each active learner has spent on SmartPath activities during the selected time period.
Why this matters: This helps you understand typical engagement levels per learner. Very low averages might suggest learners are only completing minimal requirements, while higher averages indicate deeper engagement with the content.
What's a reasonable number: This varies based on your program design. If SmartPaths include short quizzes and micro-learning, 0.5-2 hours per learner might be normal. Comprehensive certification programs might average 5-10+ hours per learner.
Completion Over Time
This chart tracks how many SmartPath completions occur each day during the selected time period.
What it shows:
- Daily completion volume across all active SmartPaths
- Trends in course completion activity over time
- Each data point represents the number of SmartPath completions on that specific date
How to read it:
- The x-axis shows dates
- The y-axis shows the number of completions
- Hover over any data point to see the exact date and completion count
- Example: "2025-12-01, Completions: 2" means 2 SmartPaths were completed on December 1st
What this tells you:
- Spikes indicate days with high completion activity (might align with deadlines or campaigns)
- Flat periods suggest steady, consistent progress
- Drops might indicate holidays, low engagement periods, or gaps between course launches
Why this matters: Use this chart to identify when learners are most active and when completion drops off. This helps you time new course launches, send reminders, or understand seasonal patterns in learning behavior.
Learning Component Distribution
This donut chart shows the breakdown of different types of learning content across all active SmartPaths.
What it shows: A visual representation of how many of each learning module type exist across all your active SmartPaths combined.
The four component types:
SmartFeed (shown in green)
- Micro-learning content, knowledge articles, or short-form learning resources
- Example: "SmartFeed (48)" means there are 48 total SmartFeed items across all 11 active SmartPaths
Quiz (shown in orange)
- Assessment activities that test learner knowledge
- Example: "Quiz (14)" means there are 14 total quizzes across all active SmartPaths
SCORM (shown in gray)
- Standardized e-learning courses (SCORM-compliant content)
- Example: "SCORM (4)" means there are 4 SCORM courses across all active SmartPaths
Survey (shown in red)
- Feedback collection or opinion-gathering activities
- Example: "Survey (1)" means there is 1 survey across all active SmartPaths
How to read it:
- The size of each segment shows the relative proportion of that component type
- The number in parentheses shows the total count of that component across all SmartPaths
- The center shows the total count of all learning components combined (e.g., "67 Total")
Why this matters: This helps you understand the composition of your learning programs. A heavily quiz-based curriculum looks different from one rich in micro-learning content. Use this to ensure your SmartPaths have the right balance of content types for your learning objectives.
Things to know:
- These numbers represent all instances of each component type across all active SmartPaths
- Not all components are necessarily assigned to learners or completed
- A SmartPath might contain multiple quizzes, surveys, or SmartFeeds
Top SmartPaths by Completion
This section lists your most-completed learning programs, ranked by completion rate.
What it shows: A table displaying individual SmartPaths with key performance metrics:
- SmartPath name
- Number of learners enrolled or active
- Average score across all learners
- Completion percentage
The columns explained:
SmartPath Name
- The title of the learning program (e.g., "Customer Service," "MR Induction Program")
Learners Count
- How many learners are enrolled or have engaged with this SmartPath
- Shown with a small icon: "9 learners" or "25 learners"
Average Score
- The average performance score across all learners who have completed modules in this SmartPath
- Shown with "avg score" label: "19 avg score" or "18 avg score"
Completion Percentage
- What percentage of enrolled learners have fully completed the SmartPath
- Shown in green on the right: "50% Completion," "22% Completion," "0% Completion"
How to read the completion rates:
- 50% Completion: Half of the enrolled learners have finished the entire SmartPath
- 22% Completion: About one-fifth of learners have completed it
- 0% Completion: No learners have finished the entire program yet (they may be in progress)
Why this matters: This helps you identify:
- Which SmartPaths are performing well (high completion rates)
- Which programs might be too difficult or too long (low completion despite high enrollment)
- Where learners might need additional support or motivation
- Which courses are most engaging for your team
Action items:
- If a SmartPath has many learners but 0% completion, check if it's too long, too difficult, or if learners need more time
- High-completion SmartPaths can serve as models for designing future programs
- Low average scores might indicate content that's too advanced or needs clearer instructions
Top Learners by Score
This section recognizes your highest-performing learners based on their SmartPath scores.
What it shows: A ranked list of learners with profile pictures, names, and overall scores.
The information displayed:
Learner Profile
- Profile picture and full name
- Example: "Jason Smith," "Rithika pothireddy," "sindhu padma"
Completion Count
- How many SmartPaths this learner has completed
- Shown below the name: "Completed: 0," "Completed: 1"
Overall Score
- The learner's average score across all SmartPath activities they've completed
- Shown prominently on the right: "105," "80," "70," "20"
- Higher scores appear in darker blue
How scores are calculated: If a learner has completed multiple SmartPaths, their score is the average across all completed programs. If they've completed modules within a SmartPath, it's the average across those completed modules.
Why this matters:
- Recognize and celebrate high performers
- Identify learners who might serve as mentors or coaches
- Understand the range of performance across your team
- Spot learners who might need additional support (lower scores)
Things to know: A learner can appear on this list with "Completed: 0" if they've completed individual modules within SmartPaths but haven't finished entire programs. Their score reflects their performance on those completed modules.
Certification Overview
This section tracks enrollment and completion for SmartPaths designated as certification programs.
What it shows: Three key certification metrics displayed in a row.
The metrics:
Total Certification SmartPaths
- The number of SmartPaths configured as certification programs
- Shown with a certificate icon: "1 Total Certification SmartPaths"
Total Enrolled
- How many learners are enrolled in certification SmartPaths
- Shown with a user icon: "1 Total Enrolled"
Total Completed
- How many learners have successfully completed certification requirements
- Shown with a checkmark icon: "0 Total Completed"
Why this matters: Certifications often have specific requirements and consequences (job readiness, compliance, product launch readiness). This section gives you a quick view of certification program status.
Recent Certifications Achieved: Below the metrics, you'll see a banner showing recently earned certifications with:
- Badge or banner design (often visually distinct, like the "Champion" badge shown)
- Number of users certified
- Date of certification
Example: "Champion, 0 users certified - Jan 1" indicates a certification called "Champion" that became available on January 1st, with no completions yet.
