Understanding the Module Wise Analysis Tab on the SmartPath Dashboard

Module Wise Analysis Tab

This tab breaks down performance by learning component type, giving you detailed insights into how each module category is performing.

Quiz Module Analysis

This section focuses specifically on quiz performance across all SmartPaths.

Key Metrics:

Active Quizzes

  • Total number of quizzes currently available across all active SmartPaths
  • Example: "62" means 62 quizzes exist across your programs

Total Quizzes

  • Same as Active Quizzes (total available)
  • Example: "62"

Active Learners

  • Number of unique learners who have participated in at least one quiz during the time period
  • Example: "2" means 2 learners have taken quizzes

Participation

  • Percentage representing how many learners participated out of those who could have
  • Example: "100%" means all learners who had access participated

Average Score

  • The average score across all quiz attempts by all learners
  • Example: "48%" indicates the average quiz performance is 48%

Quiz Hours

  • Total time spent on quizzes across all learners
  • Example: "0" might mean less than 0.01 hours (very brief quizzes or few attempts)

Quiz Completion Status (Donut Chart): Shows the status of quiz assignments:

  • Completed (green): Quizzes that have been completed by learners (e.g., "6")
  • In Progress (orange): Quizzes currently being taken (e.g., "0")
  • Assigned (gray): Quizzes assigned but not yet started (e.g., "0")

Understanding the numbers: If you have 62 total quizzes but only 6 are shown as completed/in progress/assigned, this is because quizzes don't need to be assigned to specific learners. Many quizzes may be available within SmartPaths but not yet accessed or assigned.

Quiz Module Analysis

Survey Module Analysis

This section tracks survey participation and completion.

Key Metrics:

Active Surveys

  • Total number of surveys available across all active SmartPaths
  • Example: "20" means 20 surveys exist

Active Learners

  • Number of learners who have participated in at least one survey
  • Example: "0" means no learners have completed surveys yet

Participation

  • Percentage of learners participating in available surveys
  • Example: "0%" means no participation yet

Survey Completion Status (Donut Chart): Shows:

  • Completed: Surveys fully completed
  • In Progress: Surveys partially completed
  • Assigned: Surveys assigned but not started

Why surveys might show zero participation: Surveys are often used for feedback collection and may be optional, deployed at specific times, or not yet assigned to learners.

Survey Module Analysis

SmartFeed Module Analysis

This section focuses on micro-learning content engagement.

What is SmartFeed? SmartFeed consists of short-form learning content like knowledge articles, tips, updates, or bite-sized educational resources that learners can consume quickly.

Key Metrics:

Active SmartFeeds

  • Total number of SmartFeed items available across all SmartPaths
  • Example: "226" means 226 SmartFeed items exist

Active Learners

  • Number of learners who have engaged with at least one SmartFeed item
  • Example: "6" means 6 learners have accessed SmartFeed content

Participation

  • Percentage representing SmartFeed engagement rate
  • Example: "39%" indicates moderate engagement with available content

SmartFeed Completion Status (Donut Chart): Shows:

  • Completed (green): SmartFeed items fully completed (e.g., "24")
  • In Progress (orange): SmartFeed items currently being viewed (e.g., "0")
  • Assigned (gray): SmartFeed items assigned but not accessed (e.g., "38")

Understanding the numbers: With 226 active SmartFeeds but only 62 items shown in the completion status (24 completed + 0 in progress + 38 assigned), the remaining 164 SmartFeeds are available in SmartPaths but not yet assigned to specific learners. This is normal—not all content needs to be assigned.

Using Filters to Customize Your View

The SmartPath Dashboard includes powerful filtering capabilities to help you focus on specific segments of your learning programs.

To access filters:

  1. Click the Filters button in the top-right corner of the dashboard
  2. A filter dialog will open with multiple filtering options

Available Filters

Unlike the AI Coaching Dashboard, the SmartPath Dashboard filters focus on organizational segmentation rather than specific content selection.

Metatag Filters Available:

Zone

  • Filter by geographic zones or territories
  • View SmartPath performance for specific sales regions

Designation

  • Filter by job role or level (e.g., Sales Rep, Manager, Trainer)
  • Compare completion rates across different roles

Product Line

  • Filter by product category or brand
  • Track learning effectiveness for specific products

Territory

  • Filter by sales territory assignments
  • Analyze performance at a granular geographic level

Therapeutic Area

  • Filter by medical specialty or therapeutic focus (common in pharmaceutical organizations)
  • Track learning development within specific clinical areas

How Filters Work

Applying filters:

  1. Select one or more values from any filter dropdown
  2. You can combine multiple filters (e.g., specific zone + specific designation)
  3. Click Apply Filters to update the dashboard

What updates when you filter:

  • Both tabs (Overview and Module Wise Analysis) update simultaneously
  • All metrics reflect only the filtered population
  • Charts and visualizations show data for the selected segment only

Managing filters:

  • Clear All: Removes all filter selections
  • Cancel: Closes the dialog without applying changes
  • X button: Same as Cancel

Applied Filters display: When filters are active, you'll see them listed in the "Applied Filters" section below the time range buttons, making it clear what segment you're viewing.

What happens next

After reviewing the SmartPath Dashboard:

Immediate actions:

  • Follow up with learners who have started but not completed SmartPaths
  • Recognize and celebrate top performers
  • Investigate SmartPaths with low completion rates to identify barriers

Strategic planning:

  • Use Learning Component Distribution to ensure curriculum balance
  • Design new SmartPaths based on successful completion patterns
  • Adjust quiz difficulty if average scores are too low or too high

Ongoing monitoring:

  • Check Completion Over Time weekly to ensure steady progress
  • Monitor Active Learners to catch engagement issues early
  • Review Module Wise Analysis to understand which content types resonate most

The dashboard updates automatically as learners engage with SmartPaths, so you always have access to current data.

Tips and best practices

For participation metrics:

  • If Active Learners is declining, check if SmartPaths are too long or difficult
  • Compare Active Courses with Active Learners to ensure reasonable ratios
  • Use Learning Hours to validate that learners are spending adequate time on content

For completion tracking:

  • Focus on completion percentages, not just enrollment numbers
  • If completion rates are low across the board, consider breaking long SmartPaths into shorter programs
  • Look for patterns in Completion Over Time (do learners complete near deadlines? steadily throughout?)

For component distribution:

  • Ensure a healthy mix of content types—all quizzes or all SmartFeed isn't ideal
  • Use surveys sparingly for targeted feedback
  • Balance assessments (quizzes) with learning content (SmartFeeds, SCORM)

For module-specific analysis:

  • If Quiz Average Score is very low, quizzes might be too difficult or content unclear
  • High survey availability but zero participation suggests surveys aren't relevant or well-timed
  • Strong SmartFeed participation indicates micro-learning is resonating with learners

For filtering:

  • Use filters to compare performance across regions, roles, or product lines
  • Identify which segments need targeted support
  • Celebrate high-performing zones or designations

Things to know

About the metrics:

  • Active Learners includes anyone who engaged with any module type during the time period
  • Learning Hours is based on actual time tracked, not estimated durations
  • All percentages showing period-over-period changes compare to an equal-length previous period

About SmartPaths:

  • "Course" and "SmartPath" are used interchangeably—they mean the same thing
  • A single SmartPath can contain multiple quizzes, surveys, SmartFeeds, and SCORM courses
  • SmartPaths can be used for onboarding, certification, product training, or ongoing development

About completion status:

  • Not all available modules need to be assigned to learners
  • A learner can complete modules without completing the entire SmartPath
  • "0% Completion" doesn't mean failure—it might mean the SmartPath just launched

About component distribution:

  • The numbers in the Learning Component Distribution chart represent total instances across ALL active SmartPaths
  • These are not completion counts—they're availability counts

About time filters:

  • All metrics and charts reflect only the selected time period
  • Changing the date range will update every section simultaneously
  • Compare 7-day, 30-day, and 90-day views to see short-term vs. long-term patterns

About filters:

  • SmartPath filters focus on organizational segmentation (zones, roles, etc.)
  • Unlike AI Coaching Dashboard, you cannot filter by specific SmartPath names
  • All applied filters affect both dashboard tabs
