What is the difference between a Survey and a Survey Template?

In SmartWinnr, Surveys and Survey Templates serve different purposes based on how often and in what context they are used.

Survey

A Survey is a questionnaire that can be taken only once by each participant. Surveys are typically used for one-time feedback or assessments.

Common use cases include:

  • Conducting a pre-training survey to understand participants’ background, expectations, and preparedness before a training program.
  • Conducting a post-training survey to collect feedback, opinions, and insights after the completion of a training program.

Once a participant submits a survey, they cannot retake it.

Survey Template

A Survey Template is a reusable structure containing a predefined set of questions. Templates are designed to be used multiple times for creating new surveys without rebuilding the questionnaire from scratch.

Typical use cases include:

  • Field staff conducting customer surveys repeatedly using the same set of questions.
  • Standardized data collection where consistency across multiple surveys is required.

Survey templates help save time, ensure uniformity, and simplify the survey creation process.
