This guide explains how to complete an AI coaching assignment as a sales rep or field rep. AI coaching helps you practice sales conversations in a realistic, simulated environment. You'll interact with an AI avatar that plays the role of a customer or healthcare professional, receive instant feedback, and improve your skills through multiple practice attempts.
This article is for sales reps, field reps, and any team members who have been assigned AI coaching exercises.
Step-by-step: How to Attempt an AI Coaching
Step 1: Log in to the platform
Log in to SmartWinnr using your username and password.
Step 2: Navigate to Video Coaching
- In the left navigation menu, locate the Coaching section
- Click Video Coaching
You'll be taken to the Video Coaching home screen.
Step 3: Open your coaching folder
- You'll see folders displayed under Home. These folders contain your assigned coaching programs
- Click on the folder assigned to you (for example, "SmartDerma")
This opens your list of available coaching assignments.
Step 4: Select your assigned coaching
You'll see a card for each coaching assignment with the following information:
- Coaching title (for example, "SmartDerma pro Objection Handling & Clinical Evidence Presentation")
- A brief description of the scenario
- Number of attempts you've made (displayed in the top-right corner, for example "Attempts: 5")
To start a coaching:
- If this is your first attempt, click Try Again (or Start)
- If you've already attempted this coaching, click Try Again to make another attempt
- If you want to review your previous performance, click View Feedback
Step 5: Review coaching details
Before starting, you'll see a detailed overview of the coaching assignment:
Scenario: A description of the situation you'll be role-playing. This explains who you're meeting with and the context of the conversation.
You Are Meeting: Information about the person you'll be interacting with, including their name, role, background, and any relevant details about their practice or business.
Session Objectives: A numbered list of goals you need to accomplish during the conversation. Each objective shows a percentage indicating its importance in the evaluation (for example, "Professional Opening & Rapport Building - 17%").
Competencies: A list of selling skills that will be evaluated during this coaching, such as Opening, Objection Handling, Closing, and others.
Time limit: The expected duration of the coaching session is shown at the top (for example, "3-5 Min").
Due date: When the coaching assignment expires (for example, "Ends Dec 31").
Take a moment to review this information. Understanding the scenario, objectives, and competencies will help you prepare for a successful attempt.
Step 6: Start the coaching
When you're ready:
- Scroll to the bottom of the coaching details page
- Click the LET'S START button
The coaching session will begin.
During the Coaching Session
Once you start:
- An AI Coach appears on screen: The AI Coach will introduce the scenario and provide context for the role-play
- You interact with an AI avatar: The avatar plays the role of your customer or healthcare professional. You'll have a real-time conversation with them
- Respond naturally: Speak clearly and naturally as you would in a real sales conversation. The AI listens to your responses and reacts accordingly
- Complete the objectives: Work through the session objectives you reviewed earlier
- The session is recorded: Your conversation is captured automatically
The AI responds dynamically based on what you say, creating a realistic practice environment.
After Submission
Once you complete the coaching session:
Automatic evaluation: The AI analyzes your recorded conversation and evaluates your performance against each objective and competency.
Score generation: You receive a score showing how well you performed. The AI evaluates criteria like objection handling, product knowledge, communication skills, and closing techniques.
Feedback becomes available: Detailed feedback is generated, including:
- Your overall score
- Performance ratings for each competency
- Strengths (what you did well)
- Improvement areas (specific recommendations for how to improve)
You can review your feedback: Return to the coaching card and click View Feedback to see your detailed results.
You can retake the coaching: If you want to improve your score or practice again, click Try Again to make another attempt. Most coaching assignments allow multiple attempts so you can learn and improve over time.
